As part of Musagetes’ 1mile2, DodoLab will be running the next phase of their SWIFT project on Saturday, October 29th from 11am to 4pm in Guelph’s St. George’s Square. They’ll be stenciling an iconic Chimney Swift silhouette on sidewalks and around the square. DodoLab will have stencils to give out – all are welcome to join in.
SWIFT project multiples have been distributed to various local businesses: T-shirts at The Wild Rose (23 A Macdonell St.), narrative postcards at The Bookshelf (41 Quebec St.), buttons at Planet Bean (51 Macdonell St.) and Wyndham Art Supplies (125 Wyndham Street North), and a set of 3 posters around the core. Samples of all of the multiples are on display at 10 Carden Street.
All of this activity is meant to both raise awareness about the plight of the endangered chimney swift and encourage dialogue and discussion about displacement, change and adaptation within the broader community.
