In advance of the next phase of SYN – atelier d’exploration urbaine’s project as part of 1mile2, Jean-François Prost of SYN will be in Guelph this coming week to conduct meetings with participants of SYN’s fall workshops as well as meet new people that might be interested in being involved with the next phase of SYN’s work.

Musagetes would like to invite those interested to attend a group session on Thursday, February 9 at 6:00pm. Both the report from SYN’s three fall 2011 workshops, INFRACAMPUS, and the next steps for the INFRACAMPUS project will be discussed. Those that participated in the fall 2011 workshops as well as new participants are most welcome to join us so please invite your friends and colleagues if they wish to get involved.

Please write to info@musagetes.ca to RSVP as soon as possible and for further information.

The INFRACAMPUS report mentioned above can be downloaded as a PDF from the previous post on this site.

Following a series of workshops in Fall 2011 at the campus of the University of Guelph, SYN – Atelier d’Exploration Urbaine has assembled a comprehensive report, INFRACAMPUS.

The report “has been developed as a common working tool based on a selection of daily observations, photographs, conversations, participatory workshops and informal interviews that have involved students and staff members on Guelph’s campus from September 28th to October 8th, 2011.

“We introduce this index as a spatial inventory of different conditions found on Guelph University’s campus. It could also be considered as a document that produces an initial analysis and serves as basis material for a future collaborative work in 2012.”

INFRACAMPUS is available here as a PDF download: INFRACAMPUS_ResearchDocument_LoRes

DodoLab will be in Guelph’s St. George’s Square tomorrow – Saturday, October 29th – stenciling a swift silhouette onto the ground in and around the square. They will also be talking with passersby about all of the project’s components including the t-shirts, postcard and buttons (see the blog post from yesterday below) as well as the wider conversation that can be bridged through a consideration of the plight of the Chimney Swift.

Here is one more image from the postcard series as well as the stencil to be used this Saturday:
